That or the training pilot really hated his films and had one helluva aim.

He wasn't hurt, but it was funny hearing about a bomb hitting his apartment. Plus, free international press coverage.

Long story short, ol' Zeph himself IM'ed me but seemed to have grown a pair of balls. After what seemed like an apology that was all too well written, I did some looking around. Looks like Zeph pissed someone off yet again. Anyways, I am glad to report that we have another member of truthaboutzeph. Ahh, gotta love it. To the person who perpetrated this act, congratulations on a job well done. Make sure to cycle passwords regularly and try accessing everything you can with the acquired password.

Still alive, doing well and so forth . . [Sep. 11th, 2007|07:35 am]
[Current Location |At my desk, thinking.]
[mood | optimistic]

Well, a lot has been going on in the past few months, living with my beautiful mate and doing pretty well. Keeping busy on a 1995 Olds Aurora belonging to said mate as well. Hope to be hitting some HAM radio meets with a good friend up near Chicago this month as well. If all goes well I will be able to start building my first RGBYW (red, green, blue, yellow, white) laser show system. Still looking into going to college, I want to learn more and have a good excuse to play with shiney, high voltage crap and disguise it as learning. In other news, I am going to start making an effort to get ahold of some long neglected friends. I've been pretty depressed in a lot of ways recently and isolation has helped a lot for the most part. I am feeling much better though and am really beginning to enjoy my life and where it's going, even if I don't know where that is yet. Back in March I lost a good friend I had known since I was born pretty much to what we believe was drug related cardiac arrest of some form. I felt really bad because I never really spent much time talking to him for a while before it, he was getting off drugs and it seems to be some of the withdrawl side effects that was a contributing factor. He had just started a new job and things were starting to look really good for him too. I did what I could and offered my support to his mom, but I just couldn't go to the funeral. I want my last memories of seeing him to be as he lived, not as a lifeless body surrounded by the mourning friends who were as sad as I was to see his life cut short. To make things worse, my grandfather on my dad's side recently died leaving behind my grandmother as my only grandparent left. Never got close to any extended family, but you'll always wonder what they were like if you never got to spend time with them. To make things worse, another good friend I have known all my life was beaten to near death about a month back. His wife managed to find him in time to save his life and he is now back at work. There is a chance of permanent brain damage and he is very sensitive to loud noises, but I know he'll pull through. Luckily people came out of the woodwork and those behind it should spend a nice chunk of time in the slammer.

To whoever reads this, remember one thing. No matter how alone you are and how bad you may think that nobody loves you, it's pretty much guaranteed that you have a friend that you can call on. Don't be afraid to do so, because it's so much easier for someone to help while you're still alive. Life is tough and full of surprises, and it's human nature to want to live life, even through all its unpredictabilities. Think about it, who really wants to know the exact time and reason they'll die?

BAGHDAD - Security forces in Baghdad have full control in only 40 percent of the city five months into the pacification campaign, a top American general said Saturday as U.S. troops began an offensive against two al-Qaida strongholds on the capital's southern outskirts.

The military, meanwhile, reported that paratroopers had found the ID cards of two missing U.S. soldiers at an al-Qaida safe house 75 miles north of where they were captured last month, but there was no sign of the men. The house contained computers, video equipment and weapons.

Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno said American troops launched the offensive in Baghdad's Arab Jabour and Salman Pac neighborhoods Friday night. It was the first time in three years that U.S. soldiers entered those areas, where al-Qaida militants build car bombs and launch Katyusha rockets at American bases and Shiite Muslim neighborhoods.

The overall commander in Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus, said during a news conference with visiting Defense Secretary Robert Gates that the operation would put troops into key al-Qaida-held areas surrounding Baghdad.

Odierno said there was a long way to go in retaking the city from Shiite Muslim militias, Sunni Arab insurgents and al-Qaida terrorists. He said only about "40 percent is really very safe on a routine basis" — with about 30 percent lacking control and a further 30 percent suffering "a high level of violence."

The U.S. ground forces commander discussed the new offensive and the security situation in an interview with two reporters as he visited an American outpost near the main market in the capital's southern Dora district, a major Sunni Arab stronghold.

"There's about 30 percent of the city that needs work, like here in Dora and the surrounding areas," Odierno said. "Those are the areas that we consider to be the hot spots, which usually have a Sunni-Shiite fault line, and also areas where al-Qaida has decided to make a stand."

With Baghdad and Basra — the country's second largest city and gateway to the Persian Gulf — under curfew, violent deaths were down dramatically Saturday. Only three people were reported to have been killed or found dead in sectarian violence.

That did not include the discovery of 13 bodies of a tae kwon do team kidnapped last year in western Iraq while driving to a training camp in neighboring Jordan. The bodies were found 65 miles west of Ramadi, police and hospital officials said.

The U.S. military revealed that identification cards belonging to the two missing soldiers were found June 9 near Samarra but said no one was in the safe house. Troops approaching the building came under fire from nearby trees, suffering two wounded before air support intervened, the statement said.

Spc. Alex R. Jimenez and Pvt. Byron Fouty were snatched in a raid on their 10th Mountain Division unit on May 12 near Youssifiyah. The body of a third soldier taken in the raid, Pfc. Joseph Anzack Jr., was found floating in the Euphrates River. Four other U.S. soldiers and an Iraqi translator were killed in the May 12 ambush.

The Islamic State of Iraq, a front group for al-Qaida, claimed in a video posted on the Internet this month that all three missing soldiers were killed and buried. The militants showed images of the military IDs of Jimenez, 25, of Lawrence, Mass., and Fouty, 19, of Waterford, Mich., but offered no proof they were dead.

Fouty's stepfather found hope in the ID find. "I take it as they keep moving him, and that he's alive," Gordon Dibler Jr. said. "I was happy that they found something tangible. I'm going to keep hoping."

Wendy Luzon, a friend of the Jimenez family, had a similar response. "It's better than not getting any news for weeks," she said. "Getting this news is something good. We keep hoping that he's alive. We have nothing that tells us differently."

The military announced that a U.S. soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in southern Baghdad and an Ohio National Guard pilot died when his F-16 fighter crashed shortly after takeoff from Balad Air Base in central Iraq. The two deaths Friday raised to at least 3,522 the number of U.S. personnel who have died since the Iraq war began in March 2003, according to an AP count.

In Baghdad, aides to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki told The Associated Press that talks Saturday between the U.S. defense secretary and the Iraqi leader were difficult.

Two top advisers to the prime minister said al-Maliki, a Shiite, objected vigorously to the new U.S. policy of arming and training Sunni militants in the fight against al-Qaida.

A third said Gates told al-Maliki that political and legislative action sought by the U.S., including a new law to share oil revenues among all Iraqis, must be complete by September when the defense secretary has to report to Congress on progress in Iraq.

Gates also met with President Jalal Talabani, a Kurd, and expressed concern that the security situation nationwide might be spiraling out of control, a presidential aide said.

All the Iraqi officials agreed to discuss the talks only if not quoted by name because they were not authorized to release details. They said they were briefed on the talks by officials who attended the meetings.

The top U.S. commander in the Middle East, Adm. William Fallon, delivered a similar message to Iraqi leaders on June 10, and John Negroponte, the No. 2 State Department official, reinforced it in a visit at midweek.

Underscoring the challenges, Gates arrived in Baghdad on Friday to find a city all but shut down by a security lockdown imposed after the bombing of an important Shiite shrine north of the city. The explosion at the Askariya shrine in Samarra destroyed the mosque's minarets and prompted at least two retaliatory attacks — both in southern Iraq.

On Saturday, attackers blew up the al-Ashrah al-Mubashra mosque in Basra at dawn, residents in nearby houses said. As they were leaving, the bombers wrote graffiti on the complex's outer wall with the names of revered Shiite saints, witnesses said. No injuries were reported.

Where Have I Gone? [May. 9th, 2007|10:13 pm]
I like being alone, I really do. Though it sometimes sucks and I spend countless nights alone, I enjoy it for the most part. Nothing makes me feel better than going on a long hike away from everyone with nohing but the clothes on my back and too much energy to spare. Though all good things must change and I think this one is for the better. I'm in love and that love has been returned. Wish me luck.

RFID Me! [Dec. 30th, 2006|08:08 am]
[Current Location |Here]
[mood | Amused]

Next week as part of a boredom induced expirement I will be recieving a Verichip RFID implant. Just for the hell of it, I will set the device to random 128 character messages using a special reader/writer kit I am getting along with the implantation kit. Also, for the hell of it, I will probably get 2 of them "installed" if it isn't too painful. Go me!

Kinda funny how these are seen as some sort of govermental mind control, but then again, the engines under the wings of 767's are supposedly "bombs" when it comes to conspiracy theories. Am I wrong to want to disprove stupid notions?

El Salvador? [Aug. 15th, 2006|06:54 am]
Well, I just had one fucked up dream (tends to happen when I get sick) brought on by illness based hallucinations. Simply put, I actually reviewd the logistics of putting a Force Field around El Salvador. God knows what it means, but I think I will file it under "WTF". Anyone else had the same dream, it could be spawned by some kind of a virus?

Also, I got hit by a car last Saturday, I think I might've fractured a rib. I'm good though, too bad the asshole sped off. That makes 3 times so far (2 in San Francisco, 1 on the street and 1 in the parking garage at work). Luckily I put big dents in the hood in all cases. ^_^

Nope, I'm not talking about the WTC movie, I'm talking about the Ford Fusion. Way back before I was born, Ford was looking into a fission powered car and it was going to be named the Ford Fission. After looking under the hood of the Fusion, I was disappointed not to see a Back to the Future style engine (Mr. Fusion is your friend), but a standard commuter cars gasoline engine. Come on, everyone makes hybrids now, I wanna nuclear car.

Movie Reviews (Poseidon) [May. 24th, 2006|01:31 am]
Well, now that I am working at a theater, I figured I would give a nice review of some of the films currently playing. Anyways, let's get to the point, this isn't going to be pretty.

Poseidon:

I walked in a bit late on this movie so I missed the 30 seconds of the film where the ship wasn't in the process of sinking, so I will skip that part. Anyways, I came in to see what looked like a ballroom or dance hall full of people dressed up in suits and such trapped in what appeared to be a ballroom followed by cutting to the people who end up being the survivors. After some drama, a dude getting trapped by some really heavy aluminuum scaffolding (???) and a successful rescue of said trapped guy (amazingly the scaffolding trapping him was so heavy it required 3 adults with a long pole for leverage to barely manage to free him, he suffered no apparent ill effects lasting more than 30 seconds) our group of survivors is off to try to escape to the bottom of a sinking ship (with no real apparent plan of escape, the bottom of the ship is usually pretty solid and they have a former "I know everything" type with them that's former Navy who mentions nothing about the dilema until near the end). Amongst the group of 6 or so people is an arrogant leisure suit wearing self proclaimed ladies-man who calls himself Lucky Larry, being an arrogant ass and all, they gotta kill him off. So, cut to a very large open area (almost a superdome, amazingly it is pretty structurally intact being the top of the now inverted and submerged ship, its external walls almost entirely made up of glass and there are rampant and seemingly unexplained explosions [luckilly they seemed ok on air during the entire film]) that our group of special olympians now must cross, luckilly an elevator and its track are bent across the gap for everyone to cross. From there about 1/2 the group climb across safely except Mr. Larry, some weird guy with an ego problem and a pretty hot chick. Well, Mr. larry decides that he should go first out of the remainder to the dismay of Mr. Ego who thinks the lady should go first (bravo Mr. Chivalry!) and about midway through Larry's trek . . . BOOM! What appeared to be a massive Waukesha engine block (powering god knows what, it appeared to have been dismantled professionally) crushes Larry. So, they go through a bunch of drama and zipline on a firehose to the other side. Throughout the remainder of the movie glaring safety concerns are overlooked (minus all the explosions, fuel tank rupturing, being upside down and flooded to massive degrees, and bizzare placements of gas mains) such as potential electrocution in charged water and lack of oxygen. Near the end, they try to escape through a propeller tube by throwing crap through it (see figure A below) but former Navy dude says that if they were to try to throw crap through said tube to jam the props (which are mounted crossways [steering?] and are eventually reversed by a button that either makes it full throttle forward or reverse [no wonder the ship sank with that kind of engineering]). So, after even more drama, the prop gets reversed and they chuck what appears to be an unusual accetylene tank into it and break the props, get out ad swim to one of many convienent lifeboats that are all deployed yet all unoccupied. Amazingly after what appears to be about 4 6" mortar shells worth of fireworks from one flaregun goes up, 2 helicopters appear as soon as the "flare" goes out (I swear that the helos were in the flaregun all along) and rescue the remaining people. Also, the ballroom full of people had to implode, thus killing all minorities on the ship (I think the director has some MAJOR issues).

FIGURE A:
Propellar tube
// denotes propellar propelling to right and \\ to the left
** access hatch
starting flow;
//____**______// throw crap in and it should break right propellar
reversed;
\\_____**_____\\ throw crap in and it should break left prop.
BOTH SIDES WERE VIABLE EXITS!

In conclusion, this movie is an abhorrent spectacle for anyone with an education above that of the 4th grade level. Definitely a good show if you want something to laugh at, definitely hit up a weekday showing (empty theaters rock) with a bunch of freinds to make fun of it.

Let me know what you think. If you guys like this, I will post a review on Mission: Impossible: III.

In the words of Confucious "Where the hell have you been?" [May. 3rd, 2006|01:54 pm]
Well, I haven't updated this damn thing in ages so here comes a pretty decent sized update.

First, I have stopped plaing EVE Online, the progression just becomes so freaking sluggish after a few months and I felt like I was shelling out $15/month for about 30minutes of actual fun. Simply put, I'm sticking to FPS and RTS games.

Second, a few weeks ago I was hospitalized after complications with my appendix caused some pretty major pain. It had come on suddenly (usually you feel the pain for a couple days and then it becomes as bad as mine was) and the doc was clueless as to what it was, so I had a CAT scan. By the time I had gotten to surgery it had partially ruptured and a routine outpatient surgery landed me in the hospital for 4 days. I am doing just fine now with the exception of $15,000 in medical bills. Also, to top it off my drivers license expired while I was hospitalized and I gotta retake my driving test when I get the cash.

In other news, I finally got myself the All-In-Wonder HDTV series TV tuner card for my computer. HDTV is pretty cool, amazing how many weather-only stations there are out here. Seing as I have no real social life, my computer seems to be the thing to take my cash (just like a girlfriend). My current system is now at Prescott Intel Pentium 4 at 2.4ghz, 1GB PC2700 RAM, 360GB Hard Disk Spae over 2 EIDE Hard Drives, Realtek Gigabit 10/100/1000 LAN, ATI Radeon 9800 SE, ATI All-In_Wonder HDTV, Wireless LAN, Spectra Physics Series 9 Fiber Network Analyzer, 2 52x CD Burners (Plextor and MSI), Soundblaster Audigy ZS and of course TempTale industrial Temperature monitors. Yeah, I am a geek.

Anyways, I'm headed off. Remember, if you miss me, I always check my email at mailto:aztecjaguarwarrior@yahoo.com if you wanna say something.

Well, today is the day I'm supposed to hear about this supposed lawsuit. I will try my best to avoid laughing too hard if it's legit. The group has so far ended up with countless people mad at me, 4 threats of an ass kicking, and 2 death threats. Luckilly none of these are that serious as most people are out of state (one isn't even on this continent). Remember, even if you hate what people say, you should love the freedom of speech. Offending people through words is every Americans right, censorship is never a good thing when it comes to goverment. If I am in your home or business you can tell me to shut the fuck up, but as far as the internet goes, tough luck. Anyways, it's time to don my Legal Helmet of Doom and prepare for the worse.
